Saving 40 ¢ per gallon at the pump sounds like a dream, especially amid rising fuel costs. But before you race over, it helps to know the fine print. Circle K’s gas discount has become a fan-favorite, but it’s tied to very specific timing and membership rules. Understanding the catch can help you turn a fleeting deal into real savings. Here’s what to know about this latest Circle K gas discount, and how to make the most of it.

Fuel Day Is Time-Limited

Circle K resurrected its “Fuel Day” promotion, offering 40¢ off per gallon, but only for a short window. Previously, in May, the gas station offered this deal for a single day at participating locations in the United States. Well, the deal is back! And you’re just in time to get in on it.

Circle K’s Fuel Day is on Thursday, August 21, from 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Over the last 12 months, Circle K has had this promotion several times. Other dates coincided with July 4th, Memorial Day, and Thanksgiving. However, the latest date added to the deals calendar doesn’t have any holiday relation.

It’s Nationwide and Works Without Paper Coupons

Unlike some promotional gimmicks, this isn’t limited to one city or paper ad. The 40-cent discount rolled out across more than 4,000 U.S. Circle K locations. Better yet… it’s applied right at the pump, no coupons or print-ads required. Just fill up within the right timeframe and, if applicable, using your Inner Circle login, and your savings are immediate and automatic. No printing, no clipping, no hassle, and that’s the beauty of this Circle K gas discount.

The executive vice president of operations for North America spoke about the 40-cent discount in a news release. “The back-to-school season is exciting, but it can also bring extra financial strain, which is why it’s the right time for us to bring back Fuel Day for our valued customers, new and existing,” said Louise Warner. “We want to be a trusted member of the communities we serve, so we are pleased to make it a little easier for families with great savings all day at the pump, as well as the everyday value of Inner Circle.”

Smart Strategy for Staying Fueled and Savings-Focused

If you want to save money on the fuel for your vehicle, Circle K has some great deals. Here are some tips on how to make the most of your money:

  • Sign up for Inner Circle now if you’re not already a member. Early access pays off.
    • You’ll need to go to the Circle K website or download the Circle K app to sign up.
  • Add Fuel Day reminders to your calendar for May and future promo dates.
  • Show up during member hours or the official discount window to “drive in” the savings.
  • Use the app to locate participating stations and track any updates.
  • Enjoy lower fuel costs and feel good knowing part of the profits serve a meaningful cause.

Timing, Tech, and Purpose: Refuel Smarter

Circle K’s 40-cent-per-gallon cut is as generous as they come, but only if you’re in the right place at the right time. The Circle K gas discount isn’t a constant; it’s a fleeting fuel fiesta built for members and planners. With a membership, app access, and a calendar reminder, this could become a routine way to keep your tank and your wallet full.

Did you manage to catch the Fuel Day discount or miss it completely? How will this change how you plan to fill up next time? Share your thoughts in the comments!
