Want to know fun and easy ways to make money as a teen? With these flexible side hustles, your teen will be on their way to making some extra money. Here are 10 jobs that are perfectly suited for teens.

1. Babysitting

A more traditional teen job, babysitting is a great way to earn extra cash. According to ZipRecruiter, babysitters can earn anywhere from $17-$20 per hour for their services. If you want to babysit, you should get your babysitting and childcare certification, including CPR certification.

2. Dog Walking

Does your teen enjoy taking care of animals? Dog walking is one of the best ways to make money as a teen. You can advertise your services to friends and neighbors or sign up for sites like Rover. The National Association of Pet Sitters also offers a certification course.

3. Virtual Assistant

If your teen is organized or good with a computer or social media, they may enjoy being a virtual assistant. They may be able to help out a local business with its social media accounts, or find job postings on Upwork or Fiverr.

4. Tutoring

Is your teen good at math, science, or literature? Tutoring may be a good side hustle to consider. Check with your local schools to see if they are looking for after-school tutors. According to ZipRecruiter, the majority of Teen Tutor’s wages currently range between $14-$24 per hour.

5. Sell Crafts

Creative teens can use their skills to sell their crafts at markets or online on sites like Etsy. Some ideas for crafts to sell include jewelry, pottery, paintings, baked goods, candles, or soaps. The sky is the limit as far as what you can create and sell. The more unique the better!

6. Online Reselling

If your family and friends have items that they would like to get rid of, consider giving these items to your teen to resell. They can sell items on Facebook Marketplace, Mercari, Depop, Poshmark, or eBay. If they are successful at reselling items you already have, they can also try thrifting items and flipping them for a profit. This is a fun way to utilize knowledge of fashion and trends and skills like photography.

7. Content Creation

For instance, they could create a YouTube page with makeup tutorials, blog about their hobbies like skateboarding, or create a podcast with friends. According to Pew Research, more than half of all teens who go online create content for the internet. Teens can easily monetize their content once they build their following.

8. Coaching

If your teen is involved in sports, they may be able to coach younger teams. To start, they may need to volunteer as an assistant coach or go through relevant training programs and certifications.

9. Gaming and Streaming

Is your teen always gaming? Did you know that they can monetize their gaming? Platforms like Twitch and YouTube allow players to livestream their gameplay, where they can make money on subscriptions, advertisements, or sponsorships. There are also many gaming competitions and additional ways to make money through gaming.

10. Lawn Care and Snow Removal

Another traditional teen job, mowing lawns and shoveling snow will always be one of the ways to make money as a teen. Ask your neighbors if they need help maintaining their yards or shoveling snow after a storm. Your teen may be surprised with how much money they can make.
