Is Walmart Open on Thanksgiving Day 2024?

Thanksgiving Day used to be a day to spend at home with family eating turkey, watching football, and napping. Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, was the day for shopping and doorbuster sales. Many stores have started opening on Thanksgiving Day to kick off their Black Friday sales early.

While many retailers have started opening their stores on Thanksgiving Day to start their Black Friday sales early, some retailers have chosen to remain closed on Thanksgiving Day. For instance, Costco warehouses are closed so that their employees can spend the day with their families.  So, check here if you’re wondering if Walmart is open on Thanksgiving.

Is Walmart Open on Thanksgiving Day?

Walmart will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. All Walmart Supercenters and grocery stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, 2024.  Walmart.com will be accepting orders, but order processing and deliveries will not be processed on Thanksgiving. 

Can You Shop Walmart.com on Thanksgiving Day?

Yes. Walmart.com is open.

If you can’t wait for the stores to open, you can shop on online and get early access to the Black Friday sale. Doorbuster items are not available online, but Walmart has announced that the majority of the Black Friday deals will be available at Walmart.com. The online sale will include some of the most popular Black Friday items: TVs, video games, and appliances. There will also be special deals available online only.

What Time Do Walmart Black Friday Sales Start?

The Walmart Black Friday sale starts on Monday the 25th at 3:00 pm The sales go through Sunday, December 2nd.  

You can check out the Walmart Black Friday deals with the Walmart app or at walmart.com. Walmart also has a store map online to help plan your Thanksgiving Day shopping trip. The store map is customized for your local store and shows exactly where Black Friday deals will be located in the store. If you have the Walmart app on your phone, you will be able to access the store map while you are in the store shopping.

Walmart Thanksgiving Week Hours

Walmart will be open regular business hours except for Thanksgiving Day and will have extended hours on Black Friday. The business hours for Thanksgiving week are:

Sunday, November 24: Regular hours

Monday, November 25: Regular hours

Tuesday, November 26: Regular hours

Wednesday, November 27: Regular hours

Thursday, November 28: Thanksgiving Day, Walmart is closed.

Friday, November 29: Extended hours. Walmart will be open at 6:00 am and close at 11:00 pm.
