Martin Luther King Jr. Day is celebrated on the third Monday in January. Typically, it is the first Federal Holiday celebrated in the New Year, except this year President Biden declared January 9, 2025, a Federal Holiday to mourn the death of Former President Jimmy Carter. MLK Day will be celebrated this year on January 20, 2025.

Costco offers customers great deals every day on bulk buying. If you have the day off from work for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a trip to Costco may be on your agenda. Maybe you need to stock up on essentials for you and your family. If so, you may be wondering, will Costco be closed on MLK Day 2025? Read on to find out if Costco stores will be closed.

Is Costco Closed on MLK Day 2025?

No, Costco isn’t closed on MLK Day 2025 and will operate under normal business hours. The food court will also be open as usual. 

Costco Stores have the following regular business hours:

  • Monday through Friday – 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday – 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Sunday – 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

These hours do vary by location, so check with your local store before making a trip. To see if the store nearest you is open, you can look up Costco’s hours on their store locator. 

Is Costco’s Business Center Closed on MLK Day 2025? 

No, the Costco Business Center is open on MLK day and will be open for normal business hours. The business center is a membership benefit for businesses that focuses exclusively on products for businesses including offices, convenience stores, and food service. You’ll find great discounts on items not offered in the main Costco Warehouse.

Costco Business Centers typically have the following business hours:

  • Monday through Saturday – 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Sunday – 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Not all locations have a business center, so check with your local store for specific hours.

While you’ll always get a deal at Costco, the store doesn’t hold any special sales for MLK Day. However, some brands may be running deals on products like electronics for the holiday. Check Costco’s coupon book for additional January sales. 

What are Costco’s Holiday Hours in 2025? 

Costco typically closes for 7 out of the 11 federal holidays every year. This includes closing for Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Of course, it never hurts to call your local store before making the trip.
