You thought that you had everything ready to go for Thanksgiving dinner. The day is here. The meal is prepped. People are starting to show up at your door. Then suddenly you remember that you forgot something important. Where can you go to get that last-minute Thanksgiving item?  So, is Costco open on Thanksgiving 2025?

Well, What’s The Answer? Is Costco Open on Thanksgiving?

No. Costco warehouses nationwide will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025. This closure is part of Costco’s long-standing policy of observing seven major holidays each year, including Thanksgiving, New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Christmas Day.

While the physical stores are closed, Costco.com will remain open, offering online-only promotions. These digital deals often include limited-time discounts that coincide with Thanksgiving and roll into Black Friday weekend.

Costco will reopen on Friday, November 28, 2025, with regular operating hours. This day also marks the start of Black Friday weekend, though Costco typically avoids labeling its promotions as “Black Friday sales.” Instead, members can expect Holiday Savings Deals that run throughout November and into December, both online and in-store.

Seasonal Costco Sales in 2025

  • Early November Sales: Costco traditionally launches early-season promotions in the first half of November.
  • Holiday Savings Event: Runs mid-November through late November, covering Thanksgiving weekend.
  • Post-Thanksgiving Specials: Additional discounts are available from Black Friday through Cyber Monday.
  • Cyber Monday (December 1, 2025): Online-only deals on Costco.com, often featuring electronics, appliances, and seasonal items.

Alternatives If You Need Last-Minute Shopping

Since Costco is closed, shoppers can turn to:

  • Grocery chains like Kroger, ShopRite, and Whole Foods (limited hours).
  • Convenience stores and gas stations, often open all day.
  • Other retailers such as Dollar General, Big Lots, and Walgreens typically operate on Thanksgiving with reduced hours.

Costco’s closure on Thanksgiving 2025 reflects its commitment to giving employees the holiday off and maintaining consistency across its U.S. warehouses. For shoppers, this means planning ahead for essentials and relying on Costco.com’s online deals if you want to shop during the holiday. Ultimately, Costco’s stance reinforces the idea that Thanksgiving is best spent enjoying food, family, and gratitude—not rushing through crowded aisles.
